Where We Began
D&R Saw and Tool prides itself on being a family owned and operated business for over fifty years. In 1966, our founder, Donald McGaha, while working as a tool repairman, identified the need for sharpening services in the local Dallas woodworking shops. As a hardworking entrepreneur at heart, he began sharpening different types of primitive cutting tools in the evenings from his home garage and thus, D&R Saw and Tool was born. He laid the groundwork for this industry within Dallas all while continuing to build upon and grow his legacy for future generations.
D&R Saw and Tool's legacy was left to our current owner, Rick McGaha, after Don’s passing. Having grown up around sharpening and woodworking almost his entire life, he is deeply knowledgeable in every aspect of the business from the back shop to the front showroom. He can handle carbide as easily as he does a piece of machinery and this expertise is brought to every customer experience.
Through hard work and unwavering loyalty, our family and legacy continues to expand. We are a first tier sharpening company within the state of Texas that adheres vigorously to our motto of “Integrity, Honor, and Pride” as we continue to serve our customers, current and future, with the same dedication and drive that was and is our foundation.
